Date of visit: July 2005 Unit
used: Caravan
We have been coming to this site for two years now and we love it. It is a
basic no frills campsite on a quiet location. There is only one shower unit
but the owner told me that they are going to install more soon. The best
feature of this site is the River Deben right on the doorstep. Fantastic
riverside walks interspersed with good pubs. Another great feature of this
site is that it is open year round. Sofar we have never found it full. It is
convenient for visits to Ipswich, Felixstowe. The pitches are very cheap, we
paid 8 quid per night with electricity. They do allow dogs as well. We will
be using this site again!

This is a good site for finding a secluded pitch if you take the time for a
good look around before putting up the tent. We spent a week here. The
nearby river is good for bird watching and there are some great walks. If
you want a tasty [but pricey] treat, eat at the "Captain's Table" in nearby
Woodbridge.

What a great location. A walk down a lane where cars rarely ever go, then
around a field on a footpath, and you're on the banks of the estuary of the
River Orwell. No traffic sounds, just bird song.
Half a mile down the estuary a great pub with garden overlooking the river
and good food.
The site is basic with just one shower, toilets, electric hook-ups, and a
field set aside as a nature reserve. Children welcome, dogs welcome. Best
relaxation anyone could ask for.
